Hywin Ningdong Organic Liquid Hydrogen Storage Material Base Successfully Commissioned with Initial Feedstock ProductionIssuing time:2026-04-14 15:20 Recently, Hywin (Ningdong) New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. has successfully completed pilot production with material feeding for its 5,000-tonne annual capacity carbazole project, achieving continuous output of high-quality products that have been delivered in batches to customers across multiple industries.
Hywin (Ningdong) New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. is a joint venture established by Beijing Hywin Hydrogen Technology Ltd. (abbreviated as "Hywin") and Ningxia Ningdong Science and Technology Venture Capital Co., Ltd. Located in the New Materials Park of Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base in Ningxia, the project covers an area of 65 mu. It features a continuous production line with an annual capacity of 5,000 tonnes of carbazole, supported by full-process production facilities including raw material pretreatment, synthesis, and finished product refining, as well as a complete utility system. It is currently the world’s largest single-site production base for organic liquid hydrogen storage carrier materials with a globally leading technological process. The project adopts an independently developed synthesis process for organic liquid hydrogen storage carriers by Hywin. Compared with the traditional coal tar extraction route, this technology has completely overcome bottlenecks in raw material supply and production capacity, offering distinct advantages in large-scale expansion and cost reduction. Product purity stably exceeds 99%, and process parameters can be adjusted to produce electronic-grade and pharmaceutical-grade products with purity above 99.5%. The entire production process is green and environmentally friendly. This proprietary technology represents the world’s first industrial application of its kind. It has passed the safety and reliability evaluation of chemical production processes conducted by the Department of Science and Technology of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and has been recognized as internationally advanced by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
Going forward, Hywin will take the successful pilot production as an opportunity to accelerate capacity release, improve energy efficiency and reduce consumption, and promote stable mass production of the project. As important fine chemicals, carbazole and its derived alkylcarbazoles are widely used in high-end sectors including high-performance dyes, optoelectronic displays, perovskite solar cells, and pharmaceutical chemicals, boasting broad market potential and strong industrial chain extensibility. Within the hydrogen energy industry, large-scale mass production of carbazole-based hydrogen storage carriers will provide solid key material support for the commercialization of organic liquid hydrogen storage technologies. Through core technological innovation, Hywin aims to break through bottlenecks in hydrogen storage and transportation, helping the hydrogen energy industry enter a new stage of large-scale application. |
